Katy Perry is alone again, after a year of marriage to Russell Brand. Rihanna is showing signs of picking back up a relationship with Chris Brown that most of her friends and fans advise against. Pippa Middleton has broken, apparently permanently, from a man who just can’t handle her fame. Or did he break from her? Anyway, Katy Perry or any of these celeb women might be just the one, speculates the Daily Beast, to make Jeremy Lin—hotshot Harvard-grad NBA New York Knicks basketball player—a happy man. Ok, they should be perfect for one hot date, at least.
Jeremy Lin has already said he is not looking for a groupie. Actually, he specified the number one sport groupie as someone who is not his “type.” Perhaps he’s looking for someone taller. That might just be Katy Perry, who would be glad to wear t
he team colors in her hair. A few highlights of orange in the Grammy-blue-do she wore earlier this month would look totally committed at courtside. Or would that scare Jeremy Lin away?
If not Katy Perry, then Pippa Middleton might make a fabulous date. Pippa is a real athlete. She loves to hang out at soccer and polo matches and at Wimbledon. She and Jeremy could hike and ski and run marathon races together. Her location in London is a problem, but they could work something out.
Rihanna needs a good man, and they are still, unfortunately, hard to find. But Jeremy Lin seems to qualify. It would be hard to picture Jeremy Lin on probation for beating a woman. He doesn’t even get that many fouls. But does Jeremy Lin need Rihanna? Or Katy Perry? Or even Pippa Middleton? Their publicity troubles might take his mind off his own. Or there’s always Taylor Swift. She knows how to handle fame, and she’s just one year younger. The two of them might actually hit it off.
